clutch judder !!

whilst the engine is out of my B4 and being rebuilt , im trying to decide whether to get a new clutch or not ...
the old one used to judder a bit under 2k rpm when taking off from cold , but once the clutch warmed up a bit its grand and would pull away with 1k rpm
is this judder normal , or is it a sign its on the way out ???

it is not normal for a judder from the clutch.

i would change the clutch and either sceam the fly wheel or get a new fly wheel as that could be the cause of your judder

ah ok ,
thats cool so , dave mentioned in the quote for the rebuild about skimming the flywheel ,
sure ill throw in a new clutch so

cheers lad

I'd do it while it was out, might save you a few hundred quid a few months down the road....

+1 defo save ya a few quid down the road

Not skimming the flywheel is the main cause of judder.. And when flywheel out on a clutch change we recommend change rear crankshaft oil seal as well.

Not all flywheels are able to skim depending on heatspots..

In this situation a replacement flywheel is nessasary or take the risk of judder..
