Millers octane booster?

breno58

Petrolheads
Lads, anyone ever tried this stuff???
I just bought a bottle in southside motor factors for 6 quid, seems like a pretty good buy,
It says 1 bottle treats 50 litres of petrol and gives a 2 ron increase.....

meant to be one of the best out there , had it in my last legacy for a year and never any problems,

Its not rated on here. All of the mappers we use would only recommend Lucas or NF.

Personally I wouldn't touch that millers stuff.

Because...?

2 ron claim is certainly better than the 6 points that it used to claim, but if you buy a bottle of NF for €13.50 from ASD, then that treats 3 tanks of fuel giving the same results, thus working out cheaper at €4.50 a tank compared to €6, and NF also comes recommended from tuners and mappers...

id rate the millers cvl turbo one but i think its 18 euro per bottle and only treats 20 litres iirc.

I had an article where this was tested amongst other solutions..properly with a bench dyno and millers was one of the worst..NF race formulae being the best...I'll dig it out for you.

saw a car on a dyno with straight petrol first then a mix of silkolene proboost and the difference was 0, alot of them you may aswell piss into it, i always thought millers was good, would like to see that article sometime,

The thing with millerts is it says raises RON by 2 points..thast the misleading part..10 p;oints is equal to 1 RON so its only basically .2 of a ron fcuk all

 ... some gains to be had with that, you'd be better off urinating in your tank than spending €6 a fill on that!!

The thing with NF and lucas is strictly speaking they aren't street legal so by calling it race formulae they get around it

I dont understand how proboost comes up so badly-it smells so much more potent than any other
[/quote]

i dont either thats what i use all the time,
this was a civic on the dyno i saw it used on, whether it suits a turbo car better or what i dont know!

saw the car in loughrea yesterday sean lookin well!

Lucas or NF are the best octane boosters even the mappers recommend using either of them and they work, the rest are crap, as damo said above i think millers only treats 20 litres, so it works out dearer compared to lucas or NF

Civics are set to run on regular juice

Yeah but the ecu runs regular juice therefore an increase in octnae rating wouldnt effect performance
