put on my FMIC now or wait for map?

This was probably asked before but i couldnt find it ,i have a 98 impreza type-r with power fc ecu .....im after getting a front mount intercooler for it which im thinking about fitting tonight. would it be un-safe to drive it after i fit the cooler? (before i get it mapped again) or could i drive it and take it handy (no high revs or boost) ???

Pretty sure its ok to fit without map, you will just notice more lag until its mapped. And take it handy. I've a FMIC and I'm waiting on a map

I would have no problem fitting one if it were my car. Just take it handy until remap.
