Fuel pump replacement

hello, iv got a 00 legacy b4 (BE5), and i got a walbro upgraded fuel pump for it but it is a bit longer than the standard one and i can't get it to fit back in to the tank, there is about a 5mm gap between the rubber seal and the top of the tank, has anyone else had this problem? and what did you do?, thanks.
 
You have to shave down or cut off the plastic to get it to fit.
 
Got it sorted, put a bit of a dent in the bowl that the pump goes into, i think its the right pump because it connected up perfectly with all the standard connections, thanks for the advice lads.
