Emissions light, forester

Hi all,

My dad was driving his non turbo forester today and the emissions light came on and has stayed on. It's the symbol of an engine in orange.

Any ideas what could be the problem?
Is it possible to get the car scanned somewhereto see what the fault code is?

Hi we've genuine main dealer Subaru select monitor diagnostic facilites so no problem there..

Your lambda may have failed..

you may have one before and after cat not sure of your year model as you haven't said..
