Total CAR-Nage, Bishops Court 4+ 5th April

SWRC Wayne

Sunday Drivers
SUNDAY Drag & Time Attack:
In place of the intended 3 Rally Sprint / Time Attack events at Nutts Corner, we will instead be running 3 extra Drag & T-A days at Bishopscourt. Except, these 3 will be held on Sundays.

The 3 extra dates at Bishops Court are: Sun 10th May, Sun 5th July, Sun 13th Sept
These will replace these Nutts Corner dates: Sat 16th May, Sat 27th June, Sat 5th Sept

TIME ATTACK: To help promote the growth of the series, for 2009 we will be allowing cars to enter with just a HALF CAGE & Harness. This will make it easier for cars to progress from the Drag Strip to the full race track. With more cars being eligible for Time Attack this will mean that more people can take advantage of the single entry fee for both Drag & T-A. That's a whole day's action for just £40 (in advance, £50 on the day).

TRACK DAY: As a further incentive for drivers to a taste of circuit racing, we will be running morning Track-Day sessions alongside Time Attack practice at each event from ‘Total CAR-Nage’ onwards. Entry fee will be £30 for 3 runs or £50 for unlimited runs (within the time frame, 10 – 12.30). Although always advisable, no roll cage is required to enter this section, just a helmet and driving licence.

AMATEUR Drift Competition: While we're at it, we have also decided to add a competitive element to the drift practice days at the SSC (Sideways Skills Centre) Nutts Corner. The first of which will be Sat 18th April.

In the interest of keeping the amount of track time to a maximum for everyone, the competition will have a fairly informal feel to it with not so much of a tight structure as the UDC events. The plan is to run the free practice as usual from 12pm. We will then take from 3 - 4pm to assess everyone's performance on track. During the judging stage there will be 2 cars at a time on track, however we will not be running drift battles, nor are we looking for the Top 16, top 8 etc. We simply wish to reward the best drivers for the entertainment they have provided throughout the day.

The competition part is CLOSED to any driver that has ever made the Top 8 at Bishopscourt prior to 2009 and any Top 16 driver in 2009. Roll cage not required. Just bring your helmet and driving licence to sign-on. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 drivers. This is how we will start but like anything else we've done it is likely to evolve as we go along. Be prepared to see a full amateur drift series being held at the SSC in the very near future! :)

Well folks, there are changes afoot.

In place of the intended 3 Rally Sprint / Time Attack events at Nutts Corner, we will instead be running 3 extra Drag & T-A days at Bishopscourt. Except these 3 will be held on Sundays.

The dates for the whole year can be found here: http://www.sideways-racing.co.uk/index.php?page=events

The 3 extra dates are:

Sun 10th May

Sun 5th July

Sun 13th Sept

I'm also making a few small but significant changes to the requirements for TIME ATTACK. In the interest of seeing the series grow, for 2009 we will be allowing cars to enter with just a Half Cage & Harness.

This will make it easier for cars to progress from the Drag Strip to the full race track. With more cars being eligible for T-A this will mean that more people can take advantage of the single entry fee for both Drag & T-A.

Already we're planning this...
