Problem Sealing New Rocket Cover Gasket

Hi All,
I own a 98 WRX and the rocket cover gaskets were leaking. Replaced with spurious gaskets. Still leaking. Added gasket maker still leaking. :hammerhead: Are genuine gaskets the way to go????? If any one out there has any feedback or in a similar situation I would be grateful to hear from you.

Did you insure you stripped the old Gasket off full. Even a small bit remaining on the Rocket cover could cause a leak.
 
no didnt replace the rubber rings they are bone dry and yes cleaned everything correctly. thanks for replying so quickly :thumbsup:
 
it is defenitly the rocker cover gaskrt that wont seal am ordering genuine gaskets tomorrow from subaru 3rd time lucky :shock2:
 
you must of not done it properly!!!!
not being smart mate!!!
its a simple repair and very basic as you know...
nothing else can cause it!!!

When you tighten up th bolts work from the center of the cover outwards... thats what the Manuel says......... :dontknow:
