the maf in my car has the letter F on it but a mate has the same maf in his classic with a A on it. both are three pin.

whats the difference. :dontknow:

my maf is gone and was thinking off putting his in to make sure its that.

will i wont i is the question. :ponder2:

cheers in advance

To be very honest I don't know what the letter means, I know the colour of the label or part number is what people normally go by.

When mine went completely the car had an irregular idle and was chugging all through the rev range, If you unplug the MAF the Check Engine Light (CEL) will stay on and the car will still have an irregular idle but will drive ok up to about 4,000rpm then start chugging.

The MAF for my impreza from Subaru costs €480 but i got it for €280 all in, from Import Car Parts. They are genuine subaru parts for half the price.

Hope this helps mate

cheers mate

my motor is idling irregular but is ok threw the rev range :dontknow:

is this still a sign off the maf or something else :ponder2:

Yeah, it still could be the MAF, that could be a sign thats its starting to go, could still be something else.

Mine started like that too, then chugging occasionally, then constantly, with an occasional CEL coming on.

Once a CEL comes on, even once, ya can have it checked on the diagnostics.
