well lads the other day an engine check light appeared up on the dash and im a bit worried about it. its a 1997 legacy estate, have any of you had anythin like this come up? and does anybody know were the plug is to put a diagnostics tool on it??

Happened to mine and it was the knock sensor...

2 black plugs under the steering plug them together then turn the key one turn the cel light will flash the long flash = 10 the short flash=1
So 3 long 1 short =31 then get your number come back and tell us and we can tell you the fault
Dont forget to unplug the black plugs :thumbsup:
 
i connected them there there was 2 long and 3 short so number 23 , really appreciate it

Fault code 23 is mass air flow meter.

Sounds like it needs changing, some of the leggy lads might know which maf is in your legacy and give you an idea of price.

Lads where abouts under the steering are these plugs on the Legacy?? Went looking for them today but could only find a long black plug which looks like an OBD plug and a shorter white plug.  :thumbsup:
 
yes its a great list alrite very very handy, did you get that off the autodata?? 395.00euro plus vat for a new sensor from subaru :shock2:
 
theres 2 small black ones around where the clutch pedal is(just on front ) you should see them :thumbsup:
